Fictional Detective Chester Hadlyme began solving crimes
and documenting them in his books many, many years ago.
It all started when he solved a series of Riverboat Murders that had baffled local police
for months. One by one the victims mounted until he was assigned to the case.
Using his astute powers of observation and quick deductive reasoning, he was able
to solve the crime, apprehend the criminal, and still have enough time to enjoy a elegant meal at a local eatery that same
evening.
A native
of Connecticut, Chester represents the third generation of Detectives in the Hadlyme family. Both his father and grandfather
enjoyed long careers and were well known throughout the area as master detectives.
The publishing of his exploits in book form came about through
the actions of a fellow officer and soon to be nemesis.
The quality and readability of Chester Hadlyme’s police incident reports were the talk
of the station house and one day an envious fellow officer, Clinton Killingworth, sent one in Chester’s name to the
local newspaper, which printed it verbatim on the front page.
This attempt to discredit Chester Hadlyme as a self-centered egotist bent on publicity
backfired on Killingworth, who was immediately dismissed from the police ranks. He swore revenge on his rival that day and
from time to time even his exploits have graced the pages of The Chester Hadlyme Mysteries.
Those actions, however, began what can only be described
as a prolific career producing over forty mysteries so far to his credit.
When he retired from the police force to open his own detective agency, he started
the decades long adventures around the world that have become the basis of some of his best books.
The Chester Hadlyme Agency has grown into one of the
most respected, sought after detective agencies with clients worldwide and branch offices in many countries.
The many cases solved and books
written have become the perfect material on which to base these interactive comedy-mystery presentations available for your
enjoyment.
